My 8 photos of happiness is quite a popular tag lately. I’ve seen these posts pop up on many blogs and I really like to read them. It offers a cute little insight into the life of the bloggers behind the blog.

Now it’s my turn to write one since I’ve been tagged by the lovely Helena (Helena’s Teabreak), Sarah (The Scarlet State), and Sandra (Cake and Whisky).

Every blogger, who gets tagged, has to share 8 pictures that represent happiness or a happy moment for them. A lot of the pictures that represent happiness to me include friends and family. But you can imagine that not everyone feels comfortable with the idea of me sharing pictures of them on my blog.

That’s why I tried to find pictures that don’t only capture a happy moment, but also embody something that I like or love.

My 8 Photos of Happiness

  • New Year and Family

NewYear2014-2015

Every year my family gets together to celebrate the end of one year and the beginning of another. That’s why New Year’s Eve embodies love and family to me. In 2013, my cousin bought wishing lanterns for every family member but we couldn’t light them because it was rainy and windy. My grandma tried to light hers anyway and it got stuck in the bushes. We laughed so hard that day. Nobody will ever forget grandma’s determinations. In 2014, we tried again. This time the weather conditions were perfect and everyone was able to let go of their lantern.

What did I wish for, you ask? Well, I can’t tell can I? But I never make a wish for myself.

  • Food

8 Photos of Happiness

This picture embodies my love of food. Believe me, I have lots of food pictures (people have started to automatically shove their plates towards me so I can take a picture); but I picked this one because my friends were with me that day. We went out for a celebratory lunch as it was almost A’s birthday, had a lovely chat, exchanged gifts and went to die of boredom at our next lecture.

  • Coffee, Tea and Books

8 Photos of Happiness

Latte Macchiato’s are the best, and all you need when you’re reading a good book is tea. Bring it all together and you’ll get a cute little shop called Latte’s and Literature; a place that makes me happy.

  • Friends

8 Photos of Happiness

I’ve lost friends and I’ve gained them. It’s all a part of life, I’m told. Nonetheless, I cherish all the friends that I still have now.

You know what the funny thing about this picture is. It’s that the both of us can’t exactly remember when we’ve met, while we know exactly on what day it was and what we did. I’ve met her online and now she’s one of my closest friends. We don’t often see each other, but it’s never awkward when we hang out, and I love that!

  • A Fun Day Out

Pillow Fight Day 2015

Going to see new places and trying out new things has become one of my new favorite things to do. In his picture, Charlotte and I went to witness an outdoor pillow fight on International Pillow Fight Day (I have more pictures here). It was madness. Feathers were flying everywhere. It was fun to see though.

  • Seeing Things Come to Life

8 Photos of Happiness

Say hello to Lacock Abbey. Scenes from Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets were shot here. So I’ve walked through the hallways of Hogwarts and I sat in Professor McGonagall’s classroom; a moment I will never forget. Next step: Warner Bros Studio Tour London The Making of Harry Potter.

  • Movies

8 Photos of Happiness

I love watching movies! I honestly can’t get enough of them. In this picture, we went to see The Great Gatsby. For a split second we thought that we would be all alone in this huge cinema, but alas an old lady came in and ruined it haha.

  • Child at Heart

8 Photos of Happiness

This one is from my trip to London. It was the first trip my cousin and I took together. She always wanted to visit London during Christmas, so we decided to just do it. London is an amazing city. I keep coming back again and again.

We saw this plush Hello Kitty at Harrods, and I had to take a picture with it because Hello Kitty is cute and I love her. My hair was sooo long here. I’ve cut it since then, but I’m also growing it out again haha.

Wait, I have 8 pictures already! Then it’s time to nominate others for the 8 photos of happiness tag.
